i am between 3 choices:

(1) Ricoh 12/10/32/9 - CD-R and DVD in one

(2) TDK VeloCD - 16/10/40 CD-R

(3) Plextor PlexWriter - 16/10/40 CD-R

which one to get?? any suggestions?? the DVD is nice on the Ricoh...but the power of 16x burn and the rep of TDK and Plextor is leaning me away from Ricoh...

"Less work more network" (HP) -- its so catchy

correction that should be an 8x DVD read on the Ricoh, not 9, sorry "Less work more network" (HP) -- its so catchy

I've had a Ricoh CD-R for a couple of years. It's pretty old and I have never had any problems with it...It has even lasted longer than an expensive HP CD-R that I once had. Any way I purchased a ??? I forgot what brand CD-R/DVD combo...so that I could remove the Ricoh and use just one drive bay. I ended up putting the Ricoh back in so that I can copy staight from one cd to another. Anyway, the Ricoh has been pretty reliable.

yea, thats the consensus i have heard, i will prob go with the cdr/dvd combo, thanks for your help. "Less work more network" (HP) -- its so catchy

Personally I'd go with the Plexwriter (darn near indestructible drives) and get your DVD separately.
