Hi all,

I have a form with two sub forms and when I enter data into one of my subforms I get this error?
Code:
A Problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control.

Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft Access. Then try the original operation again in Microsoft Access.

I've checked the relationship and linked child / master fields and it looks ok. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

thanks

No NortonAntiVirus with ScriptBlocking enabled running ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

no nothing like that PHV.

I am getting this error on a couple of different PC's running MS WinNT4 and MS Win2000.

Shutting down doesn't help and I don't get this with other databases. When I open the form (subform2) on its own I can enter data, just not when it's part of the main form?

Me having the same problem...

1st subform no problem, but when added 2nd subform to form get same error. No Norton antivirus script blocking or MSBlaster virus as I read on one post.

Hi, I'm having the same problem with this error. My message is a little different:

"The LinkMasterFields property setting has produced this error: 'A problem occurred while Microsoft Office Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control'"

Had this problem been fixed yet, or does anyone know how to fix this?

Please help!

Well, here's what I found with this problem. I had no problems with my references and the fact that they are registered incorrectly.

It looks like when the link was originally created between the main table and the sub-table, the link was created incorrectly. I used the wizard to create the link originally.

To fix:
I deleted both the main form and subform and started over from scratch. This time, the link was created properly and no error messages are displaying now. (I used the wizard again.)
**Note: You may want to compact & repair the DB in between recreating the link.

Thanks!
