IS-IT--Management
OK, somebody PLEASE tell me you've seen this before.
I got pulled into the IS&T Director's office this morning because he had 450 unread messages in his Deleted Items folder in Outlook. He's worked here for quite some time and some of the messages that were in the folder were from 1998, plus other older messages that he swears he's deleted. I trust this guy not to feed me a line of BS, so I am giving this due attention.
Also, not too very long ago, I had a very emotional call from an employee who had lost her only son. Some old messages from him popped up in her inbox shortly after she had returned from bereavement leave. She was obviously distraught and thought that someone was pulling a cruel joke on her, but all the evidence that I could find was that it was just an old message that resurfaced due to some sort of glitch in Exchange, or possibly user error (but I didn't tell her that, of course).
WTF is going on???? I don't see anything unusual in the event logs and due to recent work to make hardware improvements, this server is running better than it ever has.
Is my server caught in a temporal rift?
