OL2000 can't open attacments with numbers in the name.

I have one user who cannot open attachments if the attachment name contains a number. Example: filename_7.doc.
It does not matter what the file extension is, it will not open. Either nothing will happen or he will receive an error message "outlook can not open this file". If I rename the file and resend it without the number in the name (filename.doc) it will open correctly.

We are using W2K and OL2K.
