Hey all,

Is it ok to delete all those files and folders usually found in the "TEMP" folder?

I'm talking about the folder in...
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp

This folder has files that end in ".TMP" and ".LOG" and others like ZIP files and even some DLLs.

While running a scan I found some corrupted ZIP files. Just wanna know if I can get rid of the entire contents of the folder... or just delete some of them (including the corrupted files I found).

Thanks!

Windows will not allow you to remove any file that is in use, and there will always be one or two files in your temp folder that will be "in use". It is reasonably safe to remove the remaining "not in use" files from your temp folder. It is mainly due to bad programming that they are allowed to remain in there in the first place.

XP will do some of this stuff via Disk Properties - General Tab - Disk Cleanup button.
