Ok have a look at this one guys....lol may be a problem and may not be.. running XP PRO i have 1gig of DDR memory install... but in system information it says total physical memory installed is 512 with unused memory as 768....???? why does the system information only show 512 as total memory installed?

Neither one of those apply... bios sees it as 1gig... system properties sees it as 1gig... system information show total physical memory as 512....but the interesting part is that it also shows as having roughly 768mb free...

There is an article about this on the microsoft website with computers which have 1gig of RAM can't quote the article number off hand but will let you know.

In the BIOS setting check the DIMM settings maybe they are set for 32MB and not higher
