Basically we have changed the locations of our H (Home Folders) and now we cannot figure out how in the heck to remove the old location from trying to sync. The new location syncs fine, but I cannot for the life of me delete the old location. I went into the registry and tried to remove the location and it just automatically re-appears.

I have seen similar articles on this, but no solid answer how to fix this. Any ideas? We do have a GPO on that OU, but most everything in it is diabled. Anyideas?

Thanks!

I do not think using the registry is a good choice for handling this problem.

In Windows Explorer, Tools, Synchronize, remove all references.

Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Utilities, Synchronization Manager, check that the entries are in fact cleared.

Start, Run, CMD

net use H: /Delete

exit

This should clear an older network connection.

Reboot.

That didn't work, but thanks for the info..... It seems like when I turn off Off-Line Folders as an option and delete the old entry, it stays deleted in the registry. As soon as i turn Off-Line Folders back on, it automatically places the old location back into the Shares folder in the registry.

It is like there is something hidden somwhere that is not visible. Everytime I try to uncheck the location to synchronize in the configuration, it automatically re-checks itself and tries to sync.

What is going on????

I have not tried this, but it seems reasonable. After ensuring that in Explorer or the Synchronization Manager and/or both that the folder entries are removed, and the off-line caching disabled remove the older stores:

They are stored in a folder that is both Hidden and System called: C:\WINNT\CSC

I suspect this would be better done in Safe Mode.

Again, I have not tried this myself.
