My two workstations running Office XP have developed the same problem -- cannot delete the Word files that are saved to a network drive (server is NT 4.0). No one can -- not the person who created them, not the administrator at the server, no one. Get a sharing violation.
If I save the files to the workstation's hard drive (C
then the files can be modified and deleted, no problem. It's only when they are saved on the network drive that we have the problem.
The file attributes appear to be normal.
I have no viruses on the network anywhere -- not on the server, not on my workstations.
Ran chkdsk on the server to no avail.
The problem is only occuring with Word files created with Office XP.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
