Office XP Service Patches

Good morning

We have encountered two Win2K pro machines with Office XP installed on them which have lost the plot after having the Office XP patches installed.

The machines (and office apps) have run OK, until the patches were applied, and then we have had problems like:
*Outlook crashes every time you try to read an email
*Office suite runs really slowly
*Office suite continuously crashes
*Office suite takes an age to uninstall

Can anyone offer any insight into this problem? I can find no mention of any problems with the patches on the MS website.

There is a problem with one of the first Office Xp service patches that is downloaded from the NET, while the installation of that patch woks great from CD. I will do more research on this and post the answer(s), along with any relevant links.

Thanks for your help!

One of the machines had SR-1 installed from a CD, while if my memory serves me, the remainder of the patches were from the web.

The other machine was entirely patched from the web.
