Hi
I'm trying to implement a Greek spellchecker and syntax analyzer in microsoft office. I've build the .dot files and dll's and program is working fine on any ms office version from 97 to 2003. The problem is when I try to load my template to an office installation with Greek proofing tools.

The spellchecker works like this: when you highlight a text and press F7 the spellchecker comes up. If the text is in english the normal spellchecker that comes with office is used. If the text is Greek, my spellchecker is chosen instead of the office one automatically.

However if I install my template on an office installation which already has greek proofing tools, when I press F7 with greek text selected my spellchecker doesn't come up anymore. It uses the office one (with the greek dictionary from proofing tools) and I cannot seem to override it.

Does anyone know a possible to solution to this?

Thanks in advance
Nik

Hi,

One solution would be to uninstall the greek checking software on those computers.

If you go to control panel and then to Add remove programs.
Then select your office installation, but click change, not remove.

Then you select add or remove features. This will take you to a screen listing the office features. Click on the plus next to Office Shared Features and then the plus next to proofing tools. In there you should find all the greek features (aswell as all the other languages) just uninstall from there, that should disbale it.

hope this helps, if you can't do this for whatever reason and need a programming solution then i don't know, sorry

The thing is I want to give the user a choice which spellchecker to use without having to remove the one integrated in ms office. I just want to be able to override the proofing tools, not remove them alltogether. I think it could be done using csapi (provided by microsoft) but haven't found a way yet.
Anyway thks for your reply
