Hi All,
I currently have a bit of a problem that I hope you can help me with.
We have a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server domain (9 servers) set-up (with Terminal Services installed). Users connect to the servers via the latest version of Remote Desktop Connection software from the Microsoft downloads website to run their applications.
The problem I currently experience is that within this environment, opening an Office document (Word, Excel etc) via a shared directory takes a longer time than say opening the document (again via the same shared directory) from the local PC. Saving the document after editing also shows up the same problem.
I've checked all the obvious things like journaling within Outlook is turned off, I've also turned off the Anti Virus software. Nothing seems to improve performance.
I cannot get to the root of the problem and I am absolutely stumped.
Can anyone help?
TIA,
Rab.
