Hi,

Am using Windows 2000 Professional SP2 and Office XP Professional SP1.

I want to be able to create a Hyperlink within a Word document to a Powerpoint file. I goto Insert, Hyperlink and then select the file I want to link to. When I hold the mouse over the link it provides me with the correct path to the file but as soon as I save the file it looses the path and puts it within my local profile?? I have put an example of this below:

Before Saving:

file:///\\rpl-bugatti\Shared\Systems\DEPTROLE.PPT

After Saving:

..//..//Shared/Systems/DEPTROLE.PPT

Can anyone help??

Click File, Properties and select the Summary tab

Is there an entry in the Hyperlink base box?
