I'm running Win98 on an IBM Thinkpad 1400 w/128mb RAM. All programs function properly, except for any of the Office 2000 programs which causes the pc to freeze.

I still have use of the mouse, but I am unable to open, close, or even ctrl+alt+del out of my computer. I have to physically turn the computer off and back on.

I have upgraded all available updates from IBM's site and all the Office 2000 updates, but the problems still exists.

Any suggestions on what to try next??

Jason

I notice you said you applied all the updates. I would try completely uninstalling office and reinstall it from scratch if thats an option for you. Sometimes when you just apply patches, the corrupt file may not get fixed.

It actually wouldn't have been a problem to completely un-install and re-install Office, but I started having additional problems with the PC not wanting to shut down. So I figured that I had some corrupt files, and instead of spending endless amounts of times troubleshooting the issues. I did a reformat and reinstall of the OS and my applications and everything appears to be working properly now.

Thanks for the suggestion...

:)
