Office apps start in Safe Mode only

I've been having some networking issues in a related thread here: thread1259261. Since I started messing with that, some of my office apps (Office 2003 Pro) do not work anymore unless run in safemode.

I can't get Word to run unless in Safe Mode. Access and Word I had to show the Start menu link where to find the file again. Publisher can't find the link at all. Powerpoint has been unaffected. Excel will not start whatsoever, although it did disable the analysis.xll addin when opening the first time; now it hangs on the first addins virus scan. Also, VB6's link was lost as well (runs fine now).

I've never come across this before. Any ideas before I uninstall/reinstall? Thanks.

Scratch this topic. All is working except Publisher. Seems it's been a windows configuration issue. Haven't nailed down the process/service yet, but it's 99% solved. Thanks anyway.
