Office 2000 (Word & Excel) closes when any file is opened

Hi guys,
I have Office 2000 premium (All patches)on WinME and it closes when any file is opened. It happens whether you dbl click the file or open through file menu. I have repaired Office and done a virus scan. I found Badtrans(B) and I have removed it and modified the registry but as far as I can tell it shouldn't affect MS Office. I haven't run into this problem before.

Any way around reinstalling?

Just a thought..have you checked you file associations?

All of the file associations are correct and since I posted last, I have reinstalled office with no success and uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. It must be a windows issue. I am going to upgrade the machine to win2k tomorrow.

Install and reinstall your printers... its weird but it has to do with the fonts.
