Getting "Error 1706: No valid source could be found for product Microsoft 2000 SR-1 Professional. The windows installer cannot continue". This happens when I try to run Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. for the first time. This occurs when I log on to Windows 2000 as the user, not administrator.

Office 2000 setup

Sounds to me like you installed an Office Upgrade and not the full program, and that you had no qualifying product installed to upgrade from, like a previous version of Office or MS Works.
