Office 2000 and Office 97

Computer running Office 2000 and Access 97 on the same hard drive. Getting following error when importing records using Access 97:
Couldn't find installable ISAM.

It was suggested that we register MSTEXT35.DLL.
I did that, message said registration was successful but when attempting to import it stops at 3 records.

Anybody got any ideas on this?
