Just installing new XP systems - XP Pro on P4 computers - and can NOT get Outlook Express 6.0 to work. The computer just locks up with 100% CPU useage. Tried unload and reinstall - no joy.
I think I'm having the same exact problem. If you move your mouse pointer is there a delayed action-about 10 seconds later you pointer will move a little? I cannot do a ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. I have to power cycle my PC. I think I'm going to download the latest IE/Outlook Express to my system and then remove the exisiting browser/outlook express from my system after I back up my emails, etc. Then I will reload.
Found the solution - reinstalling does not help. I am running Computer Associates InocculateIT and the WAB files MUST be deleted from the autoscan or outlook express will hang every time. If your experience is the same as mine you will need to try the "exclude" several times before it sticks.
