OE messages not moving to Sent Items 1

I have a pc where messages simply vanish when sent. The option to "Save a copy in Sent Items" is ticked, and there are no rules set up that may be causing it as well.

Anyone got any clues where alse to look?

While in the 'Sent items' folder, check the View, Current View settings.

It is ticked as "Show all messages"

Something else happened today. We moved over to using Outlook and guess what? the same thing happens. However, messages sent yesterday through Outlook are in the Sent box, but messages sent today are not.

I am getting my hands on the machine tomorrow, so hopefully will know more then.

Well, here's what happened: The owner didn't tell me until today that this problem started after he had his mother board changed. Turned out that whoever put the computer back together again didn't update the system date, which was set to May 2003. So all the messages that went out in this last week have vanished, but were delivered OK.

By setting up the correct system date, all is now well, but the mystery remains - what happened to those sent messages?
