I know I've seen this problem before...

I installed service pack 4 (w2k) and now find OE 6 taking 3 - 5 min. to load. What do I do to correct. I've checked google and MS no luck!

thanks

My knowledge maybe limited...usually just enough to get me into trouble. Who knows, it may help...even if it's misguided!

try unchecking the options in
tools - options - general - automatically logon to windows messenger.

Sorry but there is no such setting or check box in options!

Got anything else!?

Could check once again..
I also use OE 6.0

If you go to tools - options - automatically logon to windows messenger..Uncheck this..I am sure this option is available.

Murugs, I don't believe this option will be there with Win2K. I think it's only XP. But, as a side note, when this thread was first posted I immediately thought of Windows Messenger also.

Smah is right this (messenger tip) is for xp only...and in that spirit I've upgraded to xp. At Least it worked for the slow loading problem! Now if I can only solve the shutdown - sorry - power down problem all will be right in the world! I found some good tips on this so keeping my fingers crossed!
