Odd paging question, can GDM be paged? 1

We have one of our extensions set to go to the General Delivery Mailbox because in the past they didn't need a mailbox. When you call my extension, the recorded voice comes on saying please leave a message or hit 6 to have me paged. Is there a way to have the GDM page over the speakers too or will I need to set up the other extension with a mailbox to have that functionality?

If I hit "6" when I hear the recorded message for the GDM, it just takes me straight to leaving a message. Guess my only option is to assign that extension a VM box?

Try pressing 6 within the first second of the message, and I bet the page will work....its a strange glitch on my BCM.

Also, since mailboxes are not inherently tied to extensions, how many mailboxes are you allotted? I know we only have so many physical extensions but do we have more mailboxes than extensions?

Where do I check this out?

By default mailbox 100 is assigned to ext 100 or none.

To find out MB count when logged into F983 press 44 as if entering key codes.

If 100/park is an issue then turn GDM off (F983/6) and create a mailbox.

i.e if 100 is behind 221 then create MB 221

Thanks, found out I only have 32 MB available. Is that something I can change in programming or a limitation of the current hardware?

Since not all of our EXT have mailboxes, I just threw a MB on that one for easy paging.

What type of voice mail do you have, if it is a CP 100 it is 40 mailboxes activated by key codes.

Open it up to see if 100 or 150 and see how many channel lights, they have picture of a tel plug.

If its a 100 then you can purchase 8 more licenses.

MB 100 is no different than ny other MB other than the fact that it can't be deleted. Check the COS assigned to mailbox 100, paging is probably disabled.
