odbc database to visual basic to excel

I have an application wich is pulling information from a odbc database (teradata), and sending the output to a textbox. However, I dont like the format, so I would like to send it to an excel spreadsheet which would be contained within some sort of window (textbox, labelbox, whatever).

The question is, what would be a good resource to get the information on how to do this? Book titles? Unless it is real easy (yeah, right), Im not actually asking for the solution. I just need to know where to get it. Any ideas?

also (I forgot to mention this), does it make it any easier since I have the databse column information in a control array?

You could put a spreadsheet inside an OLE control, but there are perhaps simpler ways. Have you considered using any one of a number of grid controls, such as the FlexGrid and/or DataGrid.

I guess one question is why a spreadsheet? I don't mean to imply that a spreadsheet is wrong - it may in fact be best - but what are your functional objectives? Is a spreadsheet necessarily the best way to get there. Good Luck

The grid controls are too slow (loading/unloading) for my liking. The reason I want it in a spreadsheet is for the formating. And the ease of searching through the data. There really are no functional objective (it would be nice if I could do some spreadseet functions with the data. Order by, and so forth. But that is not necassry). I have the data going to a textbox, and it works fine. I just want to change the appearance.
