ODBC connections

We have sql2000 servers which clients connect to through ODBC. Is it possible to find out who is connected to the database real time or if there is a log of all the connections?

Yes, you can view current connections in Enterprise manager (under Management, Current Activity, Process Info) or from Query Analyzer/OSQL etc using sp_who

Bear in mind you'll only see the user name of the ODBC connection, are your clients logons or users, logons will login to the server and users log directly to a database.
If your odbc is generic i.e
username :- Genericuser
Password :- Genericuser .

You will only see Genericuser when ytou run SP_who from QA
if you have 500 clients on the same odbc connection then you wont be able to determine who it is ,ecept maybe by the hostname .
