ODBC connection !!

Hello…
I am having a problem accessing my SQL server through an ODBC connection!!!
I have configured it ,I think right and I have this message ….
! Connection failed
SQL State : ‘01000’
SQL Server Error :11001
[Microsoft ][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets] ConnectionsOpen (Connect())

and also Error :6
Specified SQL server not found ….

1) are you specifying an IP address for the server, rather than a name?

2) is your server configured to listen on TCP/IP protocol?

3) is your client machine configured to use TCP/IP protocol? Robert Bradley
