Where can I find detailed step by step instructions on how to set up an ODBC connection from Crystal to Excel?

Thanks

Here are the steps:

1) In Excel select the cells that contain both your data and your field names. Use a row directly above the first row of data for your field names. It is good practice to use names without spaces and that are 10 characters or less. Do not start you names with a number and do not use special chracters such as $ or #, etc.

2) In excel create a named range for your data and field names. Click on the box above the A1 cell and enter a name (no spaces) and press enter.

3) save your excel spreadsheet.

4) Click on Start, Setting, Control panel and pick the ODBC data sources. If you are using Windows 2000 you will find that under administrative tools.

5) click on the tab for system DSN and then pick 'add'. Pick "Microsoft Excel Driver" and click of 'finish'.
Give the DSN (data source name) a name and click on 'select workbook'. Navagate to the place where you saved your *.xls and pick it. Click 'ok' 2 or three times to save your DSN.

6) In Crystal create a new report and click on ODBC when you pick the database. You should see the DSN name you saved above. Inside that you will see your named range displayed as if it were a table.
