ODBC Connection Failing using Access 97

A sql server odbc error occurs when certain users attempt to Link Tables in Access 97 by connecting to an ODBC data source connecting to a SQL Server 7.0 database.
We see nothing wrong with the ODBC Data Source, and the PCs can ping the server that the sql server database is on.
Does anybody have any ideas as to why this connection is not working?

Have you got the corresponding ODBC drivers installed on each machine?

Also, all those users have access to the sql server, or the access is limited?
