ODBC Call Failed

I have a form in Access 2000 from which I run an update query on a linked SQL Server table. The update query works correctly, but if I close the form and try to reopen it I get the error "ODBC Call Failed". If I go into the table and undo the updates that were made through the query and then try to open the form I don't get the error. Can I not run update queries on linked SQL Server tables? Am I missing something?
Any help would be appreciated.
