I am schedule to do a power down, power up on a Octel 250
Can some list the procedure for this action.

Try:

Avaya: Octel messaging solutions Forum

May be more use than the Nortel Forum.

Log in to Octel, goto menu option 13, then shut down with dump.

Once it gets to:
ENTER BOOT COMMAND:

you can power off.

When powering back on.
You'll first get a menu consisting of
B
^DB
^BB
Select B

Then you'll receive the prompt:
ENTER BOOT COMMAND:
Enter the letter A

If everything boots properly, it will take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes and the final screen you'll see if Enter System Administrator Password:

Along the lines of this, and little hijack - let's say we INI our Nortel - what is the fastest way to get 72 agent ports logged back in to the queue?

Menu Option 13
Menu Option 11 Card Mgmt
Select the FLT card you want to disable

Once it disables (Could take up to 15 minutes)

Then it will say replace card, obviously don't replace card, just hit a hit to re-enable

Wait another several minutes and the card programming will re-upload and all ports will be back in action.

repeat for each card.

Now if you have only a small amount of ports to get logged back in:
Main Menu option 4:
Option 1: Configure Ports
Select Ports (usually starts with option 1 1A-1H if FLTN 8 port card is there)

In the I column, change from Y to O (Out of Service)
then repeat process and change from O to Y or N (Yes to take incoming calls or No to not take incoming calls)

Thanks so much! However, I found that if you "dead short" the port with the TN attached, for say 5 seconds, it will log in about 10 seconds later. I saw another tech do that and this time I did it while on LD80 ENTC - and sure enough, it worked.

Not sure if that is by design or what...
