OCR Software

i don't know whether i should post this thread in this forum or not, because i dont find any other forum to post, maybe this is suitbable. please forgive me if wrong.

i need a good ocr software to scan for some book. previously i tried Omnipage and ABBYY Fine Reader 4.0 Sprint to scan. Unfortunately, when i recognize/ convert it into text, all the alignment is running out and some text is not recognize properly. say that, i scan "microsoft" from some book, when it recognize into text it will be come "^^cro$o@t".

hope you guys get what i mean here?

so what i did is to align it manually and have to check each of the text/paragraph and changed. this is taking much time coz there about some 15 book. each book takes more than 100pages and full of text. is there any other ocr software you guys can recommend.

Omnipage is pretty good software, so I have to beleve that the scanning process may be a larger part of your problem than you realize, especially given the "align it manually" problem. It's very hard to align books properly on a scanner or copy machine. Cutting the binding off is the best solution for good alignment of pages on the glass, but not recommended unless the books are yours.

On the other hand, Amazon's used bookstore has some great prices if all you need are copies.
