Hello. I'm new to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help. Here's the problem:
We have a small domain with 3 win2000 domain controllers. One server runs Exchange 2000, the other 2 are file servers. All servers have all updates/service packs installed up through 1 week ago. I opened active directory on one of the file servers this morning because I needed to add a user to a distribution group. I right clicked the user, chose 'properties', selected the 'member of' tab, and clicked the 'add' button. When I did that I got an error message that said:
"object picker cannot be opened because no locations from which to choose objects could be found"
I clicked OK and another little error window popped up. The window title on this one said 'active directory' and the text said "the parameter is incorrect".
I tried the same thing on our Exchange server and got the same error messages. However, when I tried on the third machine (the other file server) I got no error messages and everything worked fine!!?? Also, the changes I made propagated to the other two domain controllers without any problem.
So, I have two domain controllers that won't let me edit active directory objects and one that will. I googled the error message and only came up with one page (a MS knowledge base article) that didn't seem to address my problem at all. Any ideas?
