Hi,

I am trying to recover from tape from our Production enviroment and recovering to are DR server. There are serveral methods I can use but the one which the customer requires us to open the nwrecover GUI .

Can anyone advise a way of me achieving this with the following:

a. Take tape from production.
b. Place tape into DR servers tape drive.
c. Recover from Production tape to DR system.

Thanks

You can not recover right away as the ND db information would not be there. Please follow the exact instructions in the Disaster Recovery Guide.

Thanks for replying but not really answered my question!!!

I think it is clear enough: As the NW database information does not exist on the DR machine, there is no info to support nwrecover.

It is not like a memory stick or a USB disk which you connect to your windows machine and it automatically recognizes the contents.

Consequently, you must recover the databases first before you can recover at all. And how this is done is described in the document i mentioned.
