I am recovering a file server as part of a drill and have run into a unique problem. It seems that even though I have a clone of the full tape that ran this weekend, NW is wanting me to insert tapes that are MUCH older. I have deleted tape after tape from the volumes list (removing both media and files), only to have it ask for the next tape down. Anybody else run into this before?

Hi,

if you like to recover from a Clone-Volume you need to set the "Original Volume" to "Suspect". You also could start the Recover command from commandline with the "-S" Option for "Saveset ID (ssid)" and type next to it the "CloneID"

example:
On the Clientside: recover -s <backupserver> -S <ssid/cloneid>

To Relocate the Saveset into another Directory use the "-R" Flag.
example:
recover -s <backupserver> -S <ssid/cloneid> -R <path_to_relocate>

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I will have to try this out. Sound a lot better than what I am doing right now!
