Nupoint vm to email trouble

this is basic vm to email

i have my email settings programmed in the MAS under email config with the server name, email address and password.

i am able to telent to the email server and send out a test email with that address on port 25.

i configured a mailbox and have joeuser@customerdomain.com configured and its the same address i sent the test email to via telnet.



when i leave a message though, we get no email. i was using the event recorder to monitor the output but dont even see it trying to send an email.

what are some other log files i can look at to try and toubleshoot this issue?
 
You have a personal email you could test with? Just to be sure its not the customers email server that doesn't link something in the headers.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.
 
You'll have to dig around in the MSL logs from the server-manager interface for the qmail and smtp log files.
 
is fcos for the mailbox set properly to allow vmail - email

yeah format of mail message may be detected as spam
mine shows callerid@company.com.au

is it virtual nupoint or mas? use tcpdump to do a packet capture - may help in finding the cause

also set the system to allow welcome emails and see if they work , if not is the mail server set to trust internal mail from the mas

i ended up removing the username and password in the initial email settings set up and it worked.
