number range

i have a field called telephone number but cannot add more than 8 number, how would i increase this range.

Are you saying you can only do a 8 digit telephone number? Never heard of one. Go to your table design and click on the phone field. The data type should be text- you don't do any math on phone numbers. At the bottom under Field Properties, click on the Field size box and type in 14 - (999)555-9999. Click in the Input Mask box, click the button with the three dots (build button) and follow the wizard by selecting the Phone format.
