Recently did a clean install of Win2000; everything is great but weird thing. When booting undocked, the Num Lock is on. It is set to off in the BIOS (this is a Dell Latitude CPx). When I boot docked, the Num Lock is off. Not a big problem, just a pain to remember to turn it off (especially since my password uses one of the keys that functions as a number. Any ideas? Thanks for your help, all!

I believe that I have seen this issue before. I think that it is caused by having the NumLock turned on with the external keyboard (when it is docked). When you undock it, then it turns back on (like it was when it was docked). Does it turn on everytime you boot up undocked, even if you have turned it off the previous time?

Hadn't thought about it. I have noticed it is erratic and I do have the NumLk on when the machine is docked. I will try turning it off before I undock tonight and see what happens when I restart the unit. I'll keep you posted. Thanks!
