I keep gtting an error message :

index or primary key cannot contain a null value

when trying to save data onto an inherited database. I know next to nothing about access so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

The error refers to data integrity rules in the underlying table. The primary key is a field that identifies a record as unique. A good example might be a person's Social Security number or a customer number - things that are unique to an individual. (As opposed to a last name, which might be the same for several individuals).
You're trying to save the record with nothing in this primary key, and Access won't let you. If you don't know the value that's supposed to go in there, make up a value. You can later come back and put the correct value in, as long as it doesn't conflict with another record's field.
