One particular hostname, or all hostnames?

In the first case the HOSTS file can be used, with its ability to alias an entry:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx somehost.com somehost

In the latter case under Internet Options, Advanced, enable in-line autocompletion for entries.

I think with what you are asking, one hostname.

Here's the sitch. We just registered a new domain name that points to a website hosted on an internal server. On our internal DNS servers, I have A records for pointing to 192.168.xxx.xxx.

I would like to have my users be able to enter either or in their browser and get the same results. Only trouble is, I'm not sure what kind of record in DNS to create to make this happen as it does not happen natively with WinNT 4 DNS.

Should I create an A record with the hostname of *?
