Hi,

I am a newbie, trying to setup NTP on a sun solaris server, and pointing it to a time server.

How do i do this.

Thanks.

The simplest and easiest way is as follows:
1) see the man pages for xntpd
2) create the file called /etc/inet/ntp.conf with the contents
server <ntp-server-name>
3) run /etc/init.d/xntpd start
4) check the process is running ps -ef | grep ntp which should reveal a process called /usr/lib/inet/xntpd

I hope that helps.

Mike

Thanks Mike042,
