NTP on a 1721?

For some reason, I can not configure NTP on this 1721 router to save the life of me. I could have sworn you can use NTP on a 1721, because I have seen it on configurations in the past.

When in global configuration mode, it is not showing NTP as a list of commands. Ive tried looking throughout the router, but can not find anything related to NTP and its configuration. Strange, becuase I have a 7200 that recognizes the NTP commands. Is NTP compatible with a 1700? I could have sworn it is. If not, then how do you configure the clock/time on this device?

try SNTP on the router:

config t
sntp ?

I setup NTP on a C1721 with the following commands:

config term
ntp server [IP ADDRESS OF NTP SERVER]
end

If your NTP server has some type of authentication key you will need to configure that also.

You can see if NTP is working with:

show ntp status
show ntp associations

You can also debug NTP to see why it's failing:

debug ntp events
debug ntp authentication
