Hi guys,

Am trying to install NTP on Windows NT. i am very new to this so am not sure what should be done. The clock source is the HP55300A gps receiver which would be serially connected to the NT server. Would have about 8 client machines.

Could someone tell me what shoud be done first.

1) Does Win NT come with NTP SW pre installed so should i
download it from some where ?
2) Do i have to make a link for the server to the gps
receiver ? (Else how will it know from where the clock
signal is coming from)
3) What should be put in the ntp.conf file? ( i just want
the simplest configuration to see if the NTP is running
or not)
4) How to verify on Windows if the NTP deamon is running and
t verify the time with the gps receiver ?
5) does the NTP software support HP's 55300 gps receiver ?

Many thank for the assistance. regards,Dinesh

Does HPs GPS Receiver not come with proprietory software you can install on the box your connecting it to?

NT doesn't come with NTP by default (I don't think), though you can download Win32Time from Microsofts web site. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
