NTL Broadband

Since changing to broadband with NTL about a year ago , i have to wait until the hard disk stops spinning when i switch on my PC, to log on to my account, otherwise I loose my connection to the NTL server.
Any ideas what this may be?

At a guess are you connecting via USB ? If so it may well be worthwhile connecting via ethernet. If you already are i suggest upgrading your network card drivers
