NTI Backup suite v 4 - opinions

I hope its ok to do this.
I know i can go to the website for info, but i trust the opinions of people here and figure i can get more info faster this way, just hope its ok to do so, i dont know.

A friend gave me his NTI Backup now suite v 4, its retail, as he doesnt want it and never tried it out. It contains NTI backup and drive backup and im not sure which does which, so that is my first question.

I have Novastor Novabackup v7 but it has been giving me trouble and i have heard its problematic so i would like to get the quick run-down on this NTI package.

I see that it backs up to cd burners, not sure yet if it backs up to dvd burners, probably does?

Right now all i want is to back up data from C drive to a second ide drive on the same system.

But i would like to know the ins and outs of this software and i figure someone out there can help me out?

You mean it came with his burner? If so, try to install it. You may find it is coded to run with his brand of burner. Mine came with a BTC CD burner, and only works with BTC hardware. I ran it once and wasn't impressed, it wanted to do a system backup - 16 CD's! But then,I use NERO for burning everything.

It didnt come with a burner, but it does show a list of a ton of burners it will work with, a literal ton of them.
I dont even want to use it on a burner, only to back up data from drive c to drive e for backup purposes, as is, not archived.
I did install it, havent tried it yet as there is no data to back up. Its going to my doctors office where he sends all info in to get paid each month.
I was gonna use Nova but changed my mind on that and this one came along, it is retail, didnt come with a burner.
You can buy NTI retail.
Yes, i only use NERO myself, but as i said, not gonna do any burning here, only backup.
Guess i could also just use windows xp backup as well, right?
