I'm trying to setup an FTP server on an NTFS machine. But when I connect into the ftp I get permission errors. I tried this on an Fat32 machine and it worked fine. Does anyone know how I can config this to work?
Configure your FTP server to ask for username / password instead of annonymous.
Create NT user account and give them NTFS permissions as needed.
Be ware - the FTP site must be a dedicated folder for security reasons, because if not, an FTP client can post an executable that will run via IIS or something else.
There are many other security issues ofcourse that you should consider - A major security tool to use is the common sense.
Well the thing is that I'm using another FTP server program not the one that is use in IIS. The program is Bulletproof FTP Server and I'm not sure if this is the reason why it doesn't work. So when u say create an NT user Account do I create the same account as I did for the account on the ftp server?
