NTFS ACCESS PROBLEM. 2

I have the following setup.windows 2000 server without active directory.windows millenium clients.windows 2000 server has got NTFS partion.No centralised logon.
I am able to access all the resources in windows Me from windows 2000 server.but i was not able to access any resources in windows 2000 server from windows Me clients.
when i try to access resouces in win2000 it asks for password.if i give admin or user password of win2000,it says access is denied or invalid password.i dont know it asks for which password.i havent set any user or folder restrictions in windows 2000.please help in how to access the resources in windows 2000 server from clients.
any help will be appreciated.

w/o AD ur 2K server is configured as a stand-alone server. in order for u to access any resource on that server, u must create user accounts that matches the local logon names of ur users in their stations.

it's very easy and straightforward. right-click the My Computer icon on ur desktop and select Manage. On the following screen (MMC-Computer Management (local)), select Local Users and Groups under System Tools. Right-click on the Users folder and select New User. Fill-in all necessary details and that's it.

HI!

To select username for the ME workstations, simply LOG-OFF or better configure "Client for Microsoft" as the primary logon in Network Properties.

Another option is to enable the "Guest" account on the server.
This allows access with no username/password, but is therefor not recommended because of security risk.
