Hi,

I am getting the following error in my NTFRS log. I have no idea how to fix it but replication seems to working ok but I am sure there is something not right.

<SndCsMain: 428: 877: S0: 14:45:44> :SR: Cmd 01165820, CxtG b24834de, WS ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED, To iqdc01.QEC.NU.CA Len: (364) [SndFail - rpc call]

I have the same for months now, i dont give a f... anymore :)

So it has not caused u any more headaches?

Do you have multiple sites? If so, make sure your inter-site replication links are using TCP/IP for replication and only links to onsite servers are using RPC.

Hi,

I am using intersite replication and am using IP.
I just noticed that if i re-boot one of the other DC's i get a Netlogon 3096 System error. Which says that the PDC could not be contacted.

Thanks

Which DC has the PDC Emulator role? Do you have the RID Master, Infrastructure master on the same machine?

The PDC has all of the roles on it. However i have made one of the other DC's a GC server. In my environment I have a Hub and spoke configuration. So i have 3 DC's pointing to the 4th which is the PDC. So for replication DC1 replicates directly with DC2, DC3 and DC4. But for DC3 to replicate with DC2 it has to first replicat with DC1. This has to be done b/c of the WAN link setup. It is a Hub/Spoke environment. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

I use hub/spoke as well. In my environment, all of my HUB DC's are GC's. Also, I would suggest spreading out the FSMO roles to diff servers. For example, I have one as PDC, one as INF Master, and one as RID master. Microsoft highly recommends that you do NOT run the RID master and INF master on the same box at the minimum.

I have about 25 sites with a DC in each and 3-DC's in my HUB location. The replication links to all remote DC's are spread amongst 2 of my HUB DC's.

Have you tried to un dcdiag and netdiag from your DC's? This may help point you in a direction.

What do u mean by un dcdiag and netdiag?
I have used dcdiag and netdiag but cannot see anything in there that would point me in the right direction

I was just suggesting to run those tools and watch for the results. Often, if there are errors, it will find them and give you more info about them to research with.

I moved all of the roles around but it still did not make any difference.

That is strange. Usually if you have frs problems, you will find it in the results of dcdiag uner the frs section of the test.
