I was having issues with my PDC so I moved the roles over to another backup domain controller. But now I'm getting this NTDS error 1265. Has anyone seen this or know the fix? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re-read the event log - is that an error or warning? Also, I (we) would need to have the exact message from the event log, as there are a number of causes. It can be resolved with the event log information.

I suspect that it can be self-resolved by a read of this article:

Thanks for your response but issue has been resolved. And this was a warning and not an error.

Ran Ipconfig /FlushDNS
Ran Ipconfig /RegisterDNS
Ran Net Stop Netlogon
Ran Net Start Netlogon

On server X from a command Prompt ran Metadata Cleanup using the following commands

NTDSUTIL
Metadata Cleanup
Connections
Connect to server X
Q

List Domains
Select Domain 0 (We only had one domain in the forest)
List Sites

Q

Opened AD Sites and Services
Under the Default First Site\Servers we deleted Server Y
Closed AD Sites and Services

Opened ADSIEDIT
Under Domain NC\DC=...............\OU=Domain Controllers
We deleted CN=Server Y

Replicated to the other DC

In DHCP for each Scope went to scope options and pointed DNS to each DC

In DNS manager added forwarders for the ISP

On each DC pointed DNS to itself as Primary and the other DC as alternate

Thanks and hope this helps others out there.
