One of our other IT people installed Windows 2000, an upgrade from NT4, on my work PC while I was away. I'm familiar with both NT and Windows 2000 but I'm sort of stuck! The system locks up before loading Windows at "NTDETECT". I know what Ntdetect is, and does, but is there any type of work around to "easily" get back into the system. I didn't see an option for "Last Know Good" and I'm not sure if I should boot off a floppy. I'll continue to investigate what to do next but I need to get into my system in order to do some work. ANY suggestions are welcome.

Thanks Jeremy,

Actually, I had JUST found the article before I got your response. Yes, Q242112 explains all of the necessary steps to fix the error.
