NTBACKUP won't overwrite BKF file

I'm running into a problem running NTBACKUP. I have configured NTBACKUP to backup the system state data of our Windows 2000 domain controller. I've configured it to save the bkf file to a UNC path (\\path\to\dfs\share\nt0.bkf). The initial backup runs fine. I've configured the backup to run this task every night at 6pm and have configured it to overwrite media.

The problem I'm having is that whenever the backup runs now, it says "the media is not blank. IT was created by another application" and then prompts me if I want to continue or not? Has anyone else run into this problem at all? Thanks.

when we upgraded our servers, i had all intentions of not purchasing the 2000 version of ArcServeIT. i gave an honest attempt of about a month using the W2K version of backup. very frustrating indeed! eventually i got the hang of deleting the listed backup, formatting the media and manually creating a new backup to run that evening. all manual. no automation. in the end, i pressed our controller for the funds to purchase ArcServe's new BrightStore for the 2000 platform. now all is well. many threads have been written on this subject.
best of luck
