NTBackup with DLT tapes doesn't work

I've got a Win 2000 server w/SP4 and a Quantum DLTVS80 tape drive on it. Windows recognizes the tape drive, but I can't create a new media in NTBackup. The only option it gives me is "DLT" (not DLT1 or any of the other newer DLT formats), and if I select DLT, it says "media pool identifier does not represent a valid media pool" How do I get it to recognize this tape? Quantum tech support rather unhelpfully said it's a Windows problem and that I need to contact Microsoft.

Any ideas?

Thanks...
