I have a habit of hiding servers that users have no reason to see......(net config server /hidden:yes)....which I also run on the users machine since I don't allow sharing anyway there is no reason to clutter up browsing the network.
This apparently caused havoc when I tried a migration to 2k AD from NT4. The SAM seemed to migrate only from the DCs that were not hidden....which of course caused all sorts of issues. I have since returned back to a NT4 domain.
Before I try this again thought I'd ask if anyone has seen something like this?
